Over 6,000 Croatian High Schoolers Use Steroids

An alarming number of Croatian students take anabolic steroids, according to a study by the Croatian National Institute of Public Health (HZJZ). The study is conducted every four years and the latest results are concerning health experts.

“Out of just 40,000 first year high school students, 1,300 boys and around 200 girls have at least used steroids once. More boys than girls are users because they want to increase their muscle mass,” explained Dr.Ivana Pavic Simetin from HZJZ.

Talking all the students into consideration, daily 24sata reports that around 6,000 kids in high school have used steroids. A source told the paper that in gym’s around the country steroids are readily and openly offered to teenagers.
