Mexican Tourist Murder Suspect Pleads Not Guilty


The 28-year-old unemployed Split man who was arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Mexican tourist Selena Graciano Macedo, has pleaded not guilty in a Split court early on Thursday.

Daily newspaper 24sata reports that the 28-year-old suspect has been remanded in custody for one month whilst investigations continue. Police can apply to extend the custody period if they require.

Macedo was reported missing on 22 August by her brother whilst the pair were holidaying in Croatia, after an intensive search Macedo’s body was found in a ditch on Marjan hill four days later.
