Marin Cilic Fails Doping Test, Claims Croatian Media

Media in Croatia are claiming that Croatia’s number one ranked tennis player Marin Cilic tested positive for a banned substance at a tournament in Germany in April.

The reports suggest that Cilic (24) found out about the news that he tested positive for taking a glucose supplement that contained a banned substance during this year’s Wimbledon tournament. Cilic pulled out of his 2nd round match at Wimbledon shortly after hearing the news and citied a ‘dubious’ knee injury as the reason behind his withdrawal. The reports say that Cilic pulled out to start serving a 3-month ban and is cooperating with the International Tennis Federation.
