KHL: 7 Straight Wins and the League’s Top Scorer for Zagreb’s Medveščak

CroatiaZagreb’s Medveščak made it seven wins on the trot last night in the KHL when they beat Dinamo Minsk in Minsk 3-2 (1-2, 1-0, 0-0, 1-0).

Medveščak’s Jonathan Cheechoo, who was the top scorer in the NHL in 2005-06, is now the league’s top scorer when he scored his 9th goal of the season in last night’s come from behind victory. Medveščak goaltender Barry Brust also came close to a record on the night, Brust was just 20 minutes short of breaking the 2008-09 KHL season record for the longest period without conceding a goal. With 3 back to back ‘shutouts’, Brust went over 200 minutes without conceding before Minsk scored after seven minutes last night. Medveščak now take on Ukraine’s Donbass on Friday in the Ukraine.
