Ivo Karlović Becomes 2nd Player in Tennis History to Serve 10,000 Aces

AFPCroatian tennis player Ivo Karlović has become only the second player in history to serve more than 10,000 aces…

Karlović bought up the milestone on Tuesday in Montreal in the ATP Master Series. Serving at 3-3 in the second set against Canadian Milos Raonic, the giant Croat banged down his 10,000 ace on the tour. Karlović went on to serve 22 aces in the match to win 7-6, 7-6.

Karlović, who with 1,009 aces leads the tour in aces this year, joins another Croat, Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanišević, as the only players in the game to rack up 10,000 aces. Ivanišević needed 895 matches to achieve 10,183 aces, whilst Karlović has required just 527. (photo: AFP)
