Croatia and Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitić has invested in Croatian startup Scorrers…

Scorrers, founded by Ivan Ilečić, is a free application for Android and iOS devices designed as a giveaway platform through which stars can gift memorabilia to fans around the world. The items stay on the wall of the app for about 20 days during which time fans can collecting lottery tickets to increase their chances to win the gifts. Items such as playing shirts and boots from football stars, VIP tickets, albums and whatever else is gifted away, will be delivered to the winner free of charge to their home in a specially designed box.

“The idea is that Scorrers will be completely free forever to the customer, and that famous people do not have to do anything except share gifts with fans. We are, in fact, a giveaway platform or broker, we accept gifts, we deliver them, maintain the application and we do everything else required,” Ilečić, who also was the founder of the analytical app ‘Once Football’ told Jutarnji list.

Scorrers plans to attract between 200 and 500 famous people to the platform in the first 2 years and reach around 10 million users.

“Stars will give away their stuff and bring joy to their fans, and their number of fans will only grow. All content from Scorrers can be shared on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and this will only increase the circle,” Ilečić added.

Scorrers has already attracted investors from Germany and the UK, and Rakitić, besides being an investor in the company, will actively work on developing the business. No doubt Rakitić will pull some strings convince his teammates at Barcelona to join in.

“Ivan Rakitić has more than 7 million followers on social media, and when players from Barcelona like Neymar, Suarez, Pique and maybe Shakira join, that number will be 200 million followers,” the founder says.

The app has been available to download on Google Play and Apple Store for around two months.
