Haven’t Paid Your Fines…No Drivers Licence

The Croatian Government has today sent to Parliament its latest proposed amendments to the Misdemeanours Act, including refusing to issue drivers licences to those with unpaid fines...

Under the proposed new law, those with outstanding traffic fines will not be able to renew their expired drivers licences until they pay their fines. Changes to the Misdemeanours Act are expected to come into effect on 1 January when they are rubber stamped by Parliament. Other amendments to the act from 1 January will see a 50% discount introduced to those who pay traffic fines on the spot in cash.
