Croatia

Actor Neda Rahmanian in Spit with Croatia’s Tourism Minister and Head of Croatian Audiovisual Centre

Filming for the German TV film ‘Mordkommission Split’ has begun in Split on Thursday…

Croatian Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin, who was at Split’s ACI Marina yesterday where filming was launched, said that the film will play a big role in promotion of Croatia as a tourist destination.

“This film will definitely help promote more tourists to come to Croatia, especially those who have never been here before. It really is quality promotion considering that the film will be shot in the centre of Split until the middle of November. (Filming) is one very visibly effective form of promotion, which the Koreans reacted to when they shot a reality TV show here and came back this year to film a new part,” said Lorencin.

‘Mordkommission Split’ is a German detective film which follows investigations carried out by head of Split’s murder section Detective Branka Marić. Main roles in the film will be played by Neda Rahmanian, Lenn Kudrjawizki, Kasem Hoxha, Alexander Jovanovic, Adreas Guenther, Alma Prica, Leon Lučev, Goran Navojec, Janko Rakoša nd Max Herbrechter, with around 400 extras used during filming in Split.

The German production, who will take advantage of Croatian Audiovisual Centre incentives, will spend close to 2 million euros during 45 days filming in Croatia. Filming will end on 11 November with the film airing in Spring 2016 on ARD.
