France Confirm Restrictions For Croatian Workers

France have become the latest nation to impose labour restrictions on Croatian workers.

France’s confirmation that it will deny open access to its labour market to Croatian citizens for at least 2 years, brings the total now to 9 nations who have imposed work restrictions on Croatian citizens from 1 July when Croatia officially joins the EU.

France joins Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom as nations to impose restrictions on Croatian job seekers. France have said that depending on unemployment numbers in France in 2015, it could increase restrictions for Croats the full maximum 7 year period until 2020.

10 nations have announced that they will not impose any restrictions on Croatian job seekers, those nations are Sweden, Romania, Hungary, Ireland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Estonia and Lithuania. No decision from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Malta, Poland or Portugal has been announced as yet.
