Four Croatian Films at 50th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

Ivona Juka’s debut feature You Carry Me was met with packed audiences when it was screened in the East of the West competition last night.

Audiences at the festival will also have a chance to see The Reaper by Zvonimir Jurić, These Are the Rules by Ognjen Sviličić, and The High Sun by Dalibor Matanić. The festival’s industry section is presenting three minor Croatian co-productions.

Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious European A-list film festivals, annually showing over 200 latest film titles. It accredits over 500 journalists from across the world and Croatian films are regularly found in the selection. In the last 15 years festival awards went to Marshall by Vinko Brešan (2000), Here by Zrinko Ogresta (2004), Armin by Ognjen Sviličić (2007), Will Not End Here by Vinko Brešan (2009), Just Between Us by Rajko Grlić (2010), and last year the best short documentary film award went to Autofocus by Boris Poljak.
