Former Deputy PM To Serve Jail Sentence In Croatia For Hungary Conviction

Croatia’s Former Deputy Prime Minister Radimir Cacic, who was ordered by a Hungarian Court to serve 11 months in jail for causing a fatal car accident in Hungary which killed two people, will serve his jail sentence in Croatia and not in Hungary.

Cacic’s request to serve his sentence in Croatia was submitted by his lawyer via the Croatian Justice Ministry to their Hungarian counterparts, and it has been accepted, reports portal Dnevnik.hr.

Cacic was initially sentenced to a 22 month suspended prison sentence for the 2010 road accident, but  a Hungarian Court ordered that he serve half of that time in jail before becoming eligible for parole. Cacic resigned from his post as Deputy Prime Minister immediately.
