Former Croatia International to Debut for Macedonia

CroatiaFormer Croatia international Arijan Ademi will make his debut for Macedonia on Thursday…

After representing Croatia at U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 level, the Dinamo Zagreb midfielder was first selected for Croatia’s national team by former coach Igor Štimac for friendly matches against South Korea last year. When Ademi (23) was over-looked by Niko Kovač for the World Cup campaign in Brazil, he pledged his allegiance to Macedonia.

Ademi, born in Šibenik, Croatia, is of Albanian / Macedonian descent, and on Monday flew out to Skopje to meet up with the Macedonia side ahead of their clash against Luxembourg on Thursday, and 3 days later against the Ukraine. Ademi made 3 appearances for the full Croatia side in friendlies, meaning he was still able to switch allegiances.
