CroatiaThousands of unpaid parking tickets from Pula, Opatija, Dubrovnik and Zadar will arrive in mail boxes of homes in Italy and Germany in the coming days, writes daily Novi List

The infringement notices result from unpaid parking at tourist spots in Croatia over the last three years. Novi list say that more than 4,500 Italians can expect to receive tickets in the next few days from unpaid parking in Opatija, Pula, Dubrovnik and Zadar. Two parking lots confirmed to the paper that they had both engaged a law firm to collect the outstanding debt on their behalf, and that payment of the fines will be made in cooperation with law firms in the countries concerned. Foreign drivers are warned of the consequences of not paying parking on the firms website, which is in both Italian and German.
