First Time Outside Japan – Croatia To Host K-1 World Grand Prix

There was good news for Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and fans of K-1 kickboxing today when it was announced that the K-1 World Grand Prix finals will be held in Croatia – the first time they will ever be held outside Japan.

The K-1 WGP will be held at Arena Zagreb on 15 March after a deal between Croatia’s Fight Channel and K-1 CEO Mike Kim was reached. The news means that Cro Cop will have a chance for the prestigious belt in front of his home fans in Zagreb.

Kim said that Zagreb will have a full arena and excellent fans, and that is exactly what they were looking for in a venue.
