FIFA & UEFA Donate €1.1m to Flood Hit Croatian Clubs

HNS President Davor Šuker approached FIFA and UEFA soon after the floods ripped through Slavonia in May to alert them of the civil emergency in that part of the country and to the damaged which was caused to six clubs in the region. On Monday Šuker confirmed that FIFA have donated 600,000 EUR, and UEFA 500,000 EUR from their funds set aside for such emergencies to help the Croatian clubs.

The clubs to receive financial assistance are:

– NK Borac Drenovci
– NK Jadran Gunja
– NK Posavac Posavski Podgajci
– NK RAŠK Rajevo Selo
– NK Sloga Račinovci
– NK Srijemac Strošinci

In June after the floods hit the Croatian football federation donated 386,736 kuna to the both the town of Gunja and to the Red Cross, whilst the Croatian national team donated 500,000 kuna to both the town of Cerna and to the Caritas charity. (HNS / Drago Sopta)
