Failed Croatian Newspaper Tries to Sell its Facebook Fans

Defunct Croatian daily newspaper 21. stoljeće (21st Century), which went bankrupt after just over two months in circulation this year, is trying to sell its facebook fan base.

“For sale, Facebook page 21. stoljeće, 7,500 fans, price is 6 kuna (0.85 EUR) per fan. You can pay in two installments. Send a message in our inbox for more information.” was the status posted on the failed newspaper’s Facebook site on Tuesday. The last posting on the page was from 8 months ago when the daily informed readers that publication would be suspended because of problems. Within the space of just one hour from the sale offer being posted, the page lost 200 fans.
