Eduardo: “Mum Will be Supporting Croatia”

CroatiaOne of Croatia’s two Brazilian-born players, Eduardo da Silva, joined Luka Modrić at the last press conference before Thursday’s opening fixture on Tuesday, and the likeable striker says that his mother won’t be supporting her own country come match day…

“My family and parents will come to the opening match to see the spectacle. Who will they support? For us, Croatia,” said Eduardo to the Brazilian reporter, before adding.

“Brazil is the favourite for the title, I just saw yesterday that Brazil have not lost a first match in 80 years,” said da Silva, who may start Thursday’s match on the bench as Croatia look likely to play with a lone striker.
