Dutch Consul Attacker Faces Attempted Murder Charge

The charges, which were laid on Monday by local prosecutorial authorities in the Dalmatian city of Split, relate to an incident back in October. Kondić  was going about business as usual when the accused carrying a backpack entered her office. After a brief exchange the man started to attack the consul with his fists, before pulling out a kitchen knife and stabbing her in the head and neck before fleeing. The man, who is currently being held at a psychiatric hospital, was arrested shortly after the incident in his apartment in Split. (pic: nacional.hr)
