Drug Possession Decriminalised In Croatia

Possession of illegal narcotics for personal use will no longer be a criminal offence in Croatia as of 1 January 2013, after its parliament voted on Friday.

The new law means possession for personal use will become a petty crime and punishable by a fine. It is not prescribed in the new law the quanitity which will be considered as “personal use”.

Fines for those caught will range from 650 euros to 2,650 euros.
