Croatia’s Number 1 Closing in on 22-Year-Old French Record

DSCroatia international keeper Danijel Subašić is only a few games from breaking a French football record which has stood for over 20 years…

Subašić kept another clean sheet on the weekend in the 23rd round of the French Ligue 1 as his side Monaco drew 0-0 with Lyon, meaning that it has now been 791 minutes since he last conceded a goal for the principality club. The last time Subašić conceded was on 29 November 2014 when Monaco lost 2-0 to Rennes. Since that date the Croat has been impenetrable.

Subašić is now closing in on a record set in the 1992/3 French season by Bordeaux keeper Gaetan Huard who went 1,176 minutes without conceding a goal. (Photo / Fanny Schertzer -via Wikimedia Commons)
