Croatia’s Last Hopes Exit Australian Open

Croatia’s remaining two hopes in the Australian Open have both been knocked out today in the 3rd round. Croatia’s number one tennis player Marin Cilic went down in a 5-set marathon to world number 23 Andreas Seppi from Italy 6-7, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

9th seed for the tournament Richard Gasquet was too strong for Ivan Dodig, winning 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(2), 6-0. Cilic will have chance for revenge against Seppi when Croatia face Italy in the Davis Cup early next month.
