Croatian Tourism Revenue Set to Exceed €8 Billion in 2016

2016 is set to be a record tourist season for Croatia with records already broken up and down the coast as well as in the capital Zagreb. 16.6 million tourist nights were recorded in the first half of 2016, up 4.4% from 2015, Croatian Statistics Bureau (DZS) confirmed.
RBA says over night stays are expected to continue to grow throughout the remainder of 2016, making it the 7th year in a row that there has been positive growth.
Retail trade in June hit a record high and was the 22nd consecutive month that there had been growth. Excellent tourism results and higher salaries were the main factors behind the growth.

According to the Central Bank, tourism revenue in 2015 hit a record-high of €7.96 billion, which was growth of 7% from the previous year. 2016 therefore is expected to be the first year revenue will surpass €8 billion.
