Croatian Tennis Star Causes Huge Shock in Tokyo

 

Croatia’s number 1 women’s tennis player Petra Martic has caused a massive shock in the 2nd round of the WTA tournament in Tokyo, knocking out world number 5. Petra Kvitova in straight sets.

“This is the biggest victory of my career. The last five or six days have been amazing. At training I was playing badly and I couldn’t do anything,” said 21-year-old Martic after her 1 hour and 28 minute 6-4, 6-4 win.

Kvitova, who was a former world number 2, was helpless against the powerful Croatian. The Split born world number 73. now faces Nadija Petrova in the next round.
