Croatian National Australian Rules Team Launch Crowdfunding to get to AFL Cup in Melbourne

Croatian national Australian rules football team aiming to get to Australia

The Croatian Australian rules football team have launched a crowdfunding campaign to help get the team to participate in the 2017 AFL International Cup in Melbourne.

The Croatian Knights AFL team, who are the reigning men’s European Gold Medalists, are aiming to raise enough funds to help them make the trip from Croatia to Australia for the championship which will be held from 5-19 August 2017 in Melbourne.

So far the team has raised just under $7,000, which is $13,000 short of their target of $20,000 AUD.

Croatia hosted the 2015 AFL European Cup in Umag, and the most recent championships were held in Lisbon, Portugal in 2016.

“Croatian participation in European AFL tournaments is a product of both self-funding and sponsorships. The Australian adventure requires significantly greater resources, and the VCCC is appealing for your support.”
