Croatian free-diver Goran Čolak has won gold at Free Diving World Championships on Ischia Island, Italy…

Čolak, who holds a free-diving Guinness record and is a multiple world champion, took out the CMAS organised Apnea Outdoor World Championship on Wednesday in the Constant Weight With Fins category with a dive of 110-metres.

“This is the best end to the season that I possibly imagine,” said the man who holds all of Croatia’s national free-diving records. “The conditions in Ischia were difficult, the water was cold and 20 metres underwater it dropped to just 13 degrees with a strong current and rain which was falling the whole time, so 110 metres which I dived is worth 10 metres more,” he said.

Čolak last year set a new Guinness free-diving record (static apnea on pure oxygen – timed breath hold) when he successfully held his breath underwater for an amazing 23 minutes and 1 second.
