Croatian FA to Build Camp in Zagreb Suburb

CroatiaThe Croatian Football Federation has announced today that it will start building a purpose-built football camp in the Zagreb suburb of Svetice next year…

After more than 23-years without its own camp, the news that Croatia will finally get a base where sides can prepare ahead of international matches and tournaments is well overdue.

“We are very close to signing a contract with Zagreb City for the concession of the land, which they are the owners of. In Svetice will be our football centre, work will start on it in 2014,” said Damir Vrbanović from the Croatian FA, adding that besides football facilities, the centre will include a swimming pool and gym.

Croatia has prepared for tournaments previously in Slovenia for a number of years. It is believed that the FA will get financial assistance from both FIFA and UEFA for the building of the centre.
