Croatian FA Bin Failed Fan Voucher Experiment

torcida-splitThe Croatian FA’s has scrapped its earlier decision to introduce a ‘voucher’ system for away fans at Croatian domestic football league matches, claiming that the experiment done more harm than good for the game in the country….

The law, which meant away fans were banned at matches unless the away club had applied at least 24 hours in advance and registered travelling fans details (name, id number ect), took effect in October, with fans revolting and only dozens of vouchers being applied for through official channels. Rival fans united and often bought tickets on behalf of away supports.

The Croatian FA said that the vouchers didn’t produce the desired results, and harmed football organisation, clubs, fans and football in general.
