Croatian Cop Receives Hero Award In US

A Croatian police officer has recently been awarded a 2013 TIP Report Heroes Award in Washington for her efforts in the fight against people trafficking.

US Secretary of State John Kerry presented Zagreb-based inspector Katrin Gluic her award last week in the US. Gluic, who has awarded the heroes award with 9 others from around the world, was head of the Croatian police team charged with breaking a large international prostitution ring. The case involved a Croatian citizen who went to Spain to find work but found herself forced into prostitution by an international prostitution ring.
