A spectacular photo from space of the Croatian coast is featuring in an exhibition currently being held at the Natural History Museum in London…

The exhibition Otherworlds: Visions of our Solar System is a photographic journey through space featuring the works of photographer Michael Benson. Otherworlds explores the beauty of our solar system and demonstrates that the visual legacy of six decades of space exploration constitutes a visually stunning, important chapter in the history of photography.

There are 77 composite images at the exhibition, representing a joining together of art and science. Raw data provided by the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA) and European Space Agency (ESA) missions has been painstakingly processed and assembled for public display.

On the photo above is a shot from space of the Adriatic coast – on the left hand side of the photo is the Croatian coast, with Italy on the right.

Visitors to the Museum will be able to see some amazing colour images reconstructed from six decades of probe data. The exhibition is open until 15 May 2016.
