Thousands packed city squares in Croatia last night as the nation welcomed in 2013. There were no reports of any trouble as crowds partied in festive spirit around the country. Spectacular firework displays were seen in the main centres of Zagreb, Split, Osijek, Rijeka, Varazdin, Zadar and Dubrovnik at the stroke of midnight as Croats saw out the old year.
