The Croatian Football Federation have stepped up their ‘courting’ of Bayern Munich teenager Toni Trogrančić…

Dario Trogrančić, father of the 15-year-old touted as a future Bayern Munich star, was invited by Croatian Football Federation President Davor Šuker to be a guest at Maksimir stadium on the weekend to watch Croatia take on Bulgaria in their Euro 2016 qualifier.

Trogrančić junior hit headlines both in Croatia and Germany when Pep Guardiola personally invited him to train with Bayern’s first team. With many predicting that the youth international is destined for big things, both Croatia and Germany are battling for the centre midfielder’s loyalty.

“I am glad that Mr. Dario was our guest. We had an opportunity to talk about football and the future. It is no secret that it is our great wish to have Toni one day play for the Croatian national team. But, of course that decision is up to him and his family. In any case I wish him all the health, luck and hard work so he turns his big talent into a successful career,” said Šuker.

Trogrančić was born in Bad Aibling near Munich. His father Dario is from Fojnica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, whilst his mother is from Vinkovci in Croatia. Toni has already played for the Croatia at U-14 level.
