Croatia Issues On-Shore Oil & Gas Exploration Licences to 3 Companies

Croatia89Whilst the debate rages on about possible oil and gas drilling in the Adriatic sea, the Croatian government has just issued licences to three companies to explore for oil and gas in continental Croatia…

Croatian-Hungarian oil giants INA, Canada-based Vermilion, and Nigeria-based Oando PLC, will share six licences to explore for oil and gas in the eastern region of Slavonia and in the northern Drava river basin. The tender included six blocks, varying between 2,100 and 2,600 square kilometres in size. Contracts with the successful bidders is expected to be signed by 18 July.

Minister of Economy Ivan Vrdoljak said that the investment in the Slavonia region would lead to the creation of more jobs.
