‘Croatia in Brazil’, a book about the Croatian football team’s journey at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil by Ivica Tomić, has been presented in Zagreb this week…

It has been just over one year since Croatia opened the 2014 FIFA World Cup with the world watching against Brazil, before facing Cameroon and Mexico, and Tomić has captured all the action and emotions with his camera in the new book.

“It was my dream to go to Brazil, ever since we talked about Pele. This book is completely positive and there is nothing negative in it, except for two sentences about the ref in the game against Brazil. We do not even realise how much we are valued, respected and loved there. It is amazing. We can all be proud of Croatia and the Croatian team,” Tomić said at the book launch this week.

Croatian football federation president Davor Šuker also attended the launch.

“This book takes us back to some nice moments. I am thankful on behalf of the Croatian football federation, who always support these kind of projects. They are welcome because we need to work on creating a history because after us there will be a lot of youngsters who will watch Kovačić, Modrić, Mandžukić and I am glad this kind of thing was made,” he said about the book, which not only includes action on the pitch, but also behind the scenes moments.
