Croatia Drawn in Tough Group for UEFA U-17 European Championships

hnsThe Croatian U-17 football team have been drawn in the same group as hosts Bulgaria, Austria and a very stong Spain for the UEFA U-17 European Championships which will be held in Bulgaria from 6 – 22 May…

A perfect qualification campaign, which saw wins against Azerbaijan (4-0), Serbia (3-0) and Portugal (1-0) has given coach Dario Bašić some confidence ahead of the championships.

“We start against the hosts which is always difficult, and since they did not take part in qualifying it will be hard to analyse their play. You do not need to say much about Spain, they are world-class. There are no easy opponents, but we can get through this group,” said Bašić after Thursday’s draw.

The best six teams at the European Championships will qualify for the World Cup in Chile.

U-17 European Championship Groups:
