Croatia captain Luka Modrić has been ruled out of next week’s World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo and Finland…

The Real Madrid midfielder will miss 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying away matches against Kosovo (6 October) and Finland (9 October) due to a knee injury. Croatia national team medical staff has been in contact with Real Madrid medical staff to determine the treatment of the both teams’ key player’s injury.

Head coach Ante Čačić has decided to call up Croatia U-21 international Marko Rog to replace Modrić. Reports this morning suggest that Modrić could be out of action for at least 4 weeks.
