Croatia has beaten Belgium 3-2 in Liege on Sunday to advance through to the Davis Cup quarterfinals…

Belgium’s David Goffin beat Croatia’s No. 1 Marin Čilić in the first match on Sunday 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 to level the tie at 2-2 and force a 5th rubber. It was then up to teenager Borna Ćorić to do the job for Croatia, as he beat Kimmer Coppejans 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 to send his country into the quarterfinals.

On Saturday Ivan Dodig and Franko Škugor had given Croatia a 2-1 advantage by winning the doubles against Belgium’s Ruben Bemelmans and David Goffin 7-6 (5), 6-3, 6-1.

The tie was locked at 1-1 after Friday’s opening singles matches when Goffin’s 5-set victory over Borna Ćorić cancelled out Čilić’s comfortable straight sets win over Coppejans in the opening match.
