Couple Make 12-Day Tractor Journey From Germany to Adriatic Coast

Ulli Hellmann and his wife Katica have arrived in Tribalj, near Crkvenica on Croatia’s northern Adriatic coast, after travelling 12-days through four countries on tractor.
“My only wish which I have not fulfilled to come from German by tractor to Tribalj,” Katica, who was born in Tribalj, told HRT.

Being retired, Ulli and his wife were in no rush to get to the coast, and lucky they were not as the tractor could only go 20 kilometres per hour for the entire journey.

“I have been together with my wife for 44 years, exactly as old as this tractor is. I know it’s every move, what it is capable of. My goal, if we are both healthy next year, is to tour Croatia with the tractor,” explained Ulli.

The couple, and their tractor and trailer, have been an attraction in the small town, with many locals in shock at the couples adventure. Next year the pair will fly to Croatia and then take the tractor on a tour of the country.
