Chelsea FC’s New Croatian Signing – “Mourinho Only Asked if I Knew English”

CroatiaChelsea FC’s new Croatian signing Mario Pašalić will be hoping he is on coach Jose Mourinho’s list of players which will head off to their pre-season training camp in Austria later this month, but the 19-year is realistic that going off on loan looks the more likely...

The former Hajduk Split playmaker has spent the last two days at Chelsea’s London training grounds where the squad is currently being put through their paces by Mourinho and co.

“Two days we have just trained with the ball. Possession, control. I love this type of training, I am enjoying it. Mourinho is with us every day, together with his assistants showing is all the details,” Pašalić told daily Jutarnji list, adding that the Portuguese tactician did not have much to say to him personally during his first two days at the club.

“Mourinho asked me if I understood English, and do I understand everything he is saying. I said I did and that was all we communicated in the last two days,” said Pašalić, who has fellow Croatians Matej Delač and Stipe Perica to keep him company at the club.

Pašalić, who says he was disappointed that his idol Frank Lampard was no longer at the club, looks likely to follow in the footsteps of Delač and Perica and be loaned out by the club. (pic: Chelsea FC)
