Burns Night to Raise Money for SOS Children’s Village in Croatia

burnsBurns Night 2015 in Zagreb to raise money for SOS Children’s Village charity….

The SOS Children’s Village project operates across the globe, helping those young who have – for one reason or another – found themselves without parents or parental care, with no bias given to race, nationality, or creed. First established in the aftermath of the Second World War, the project has sought to alleviate the suffering of those who are the victims of wars which they did not begin, or of social circumstances which they had no part in creating.

Today there are over 530 villages worldwide, and over 2300 supporting facilities. The SOS Children’s Village has been active in Croatia since the early days of the Homeland War, helping those who lost family and those who were displaced by the conflict.

1382911_10152793793808604_1704459372441240210_nChildren are, and have always been, the most valuable asset a country can have. Within the project they can develop without fear, and earn an education with which they can, in turn, contribute positively to society.
