Ana Konjuh Wins Australian Open Junior Title And Becomes World Number 1

Croatian teenage tennis sensation Ana Konjuh is on top of the world. Konjuh (15) has added today added the Australian Open Junior Championship singles title to the Doubles title she won yesterday.

The powerful teen, who is from Dubrovnik on Croatia’s Adriatic coast, beat Czech Republic’s Katerina Siniakova in the final at Melbourne Park today 6:3, 6:4 to win her first Grand Slam junior title.

The win also means Konjuh is the new number 1 ranked junior in the world. Konjuh has had an amazing last couple months, recently winning the famous Orange Bowl in the US. Croatian great Goran Ivanisevic recently said he has no doubt that Konjuh will become a top ten player. The future looks bright for Ana.
