The tourist who found and returned a wallet in Zadar this week has been identified…

Yesterday a Zadar man sent out a plea to the media for the tourist who found and returned his wallet, untouched, to come forward so he could give them a reward – a free 7-day holiday in Zadar next summer. On Friday portal Zadarski.hr reported that the tourist was in fact 23-year-old Indian student Mahesh Avasare.

To recap, the Zadar man had lost his wallet, which had 2,800 kuna and 100 USD inside, during a screening of a film at the Avvantura film festival which is going on in Zadar at the moment. When he turned up to his business premise the following morning a woman at the bakery next door gave him a plastic bag with his wallet inside. Avasare had handed the wallet into the reception of the hostel he was staying, which was then passed on to the lady at the bakery to give to the man.

Nice work, Mahesh.
