More than 500 fans turned out on Sunday in the Istrian town of Rovinj to watch Croatia train for the first time as their 2018 World Cup build-up campaign begun.

The 24-man squad named by coach Zlatko Dalic, minus Dejan Lovren, Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic who were on Champions League duty, gathered in camp this weekend after preparations start for next month’s World Cup.

The squad had a light training session under the watchful eyes of coach Dalic and his assistants Ivica Olic and Drazen Ladic at NK Rovinj’s stadium.
