As expected Croatia were far too good for Australia in their opening match of Group D at the World Handball Championships in Madrid on Saturday, running out winners 36-13.
Man of the match was Croatia’s top scorer Zlatko Horvat, who netted 8 times. Ivan Cupic was Croatia’s next best, scoring 7 times.
“It is hard to draw any conclusions after that kind of victory. Australia was a good sparing partner for the start of the championships, ” said one of Croatia’s trainers Zeljko Babic after the match.
Croatia next face Algeria on Monday.

Nikola Vranic (23) first came to the attention of British band Coldplay when his YouTube song “Man With Magnificent Mind” was selected on the bands list of talented artists on their website. The video has attracted over 47,000 views on Youtube and has now caught the attention of the former new wave legends guitarist.
“Not long after “Man With Magnificent Mind” was released, from San Francisco Jerry Harrison from Talking Heads called and offered to work together. He told me that my music is interesting and unusual,” said Vranic, who is from Zabok in north-west Croatia, to Vecernji list.
