Croatian Scientists Involved In Revolutionary Diabetes Discovery

Croatian scientists were part of an international consortium who have discovered the biomarker that can be used for screening to find those at hight risk of Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY), said the company Genos today.

Besides scientists from Genos, Croatian scientists from Zagreb, Osijek and Split played are part in the ground-breaking discovery.

“In the Genos laboratory we can conduct testing of molecular markers, and we hope that we will soon establish a system that will allow any interested patients to check for MODY type diabetes,” said Genos researcher Mislav Novokmet.
