Not many Croatians are closing in on 1 million Instagram followers, but makeup artist Jelena Perić from Zagreb is one of them…

Jelena’s uncanny resemblance to Kim Kardashian, something the 24-year-old doesn’t quiet agree with, has helped propel her to social media fame, with media all over the world featuring her on their pages.

We caught up with Jelena, whose makeup tutorials and tips get over 10,000 likes a time on Instagram, where she talks about Instagram, Kim Kardashian, her future plans and more.

Hi Jelena, its been a busy time for you at the moment as your Instagram profile grows through the roof. You have over 700,000 followers now, and going north fast, so when did you open your account and what was the main purpose?

It’s been exactly a year since I’ve started. I wanted to show my work and talent.

So when did it really start to take off? What was the catalyst for the spike in followers?

I’ve started getting a lot of followers after the day when Lilly Ghalichi featured me on her profile. I remember I was getting 100k people per month.

What has been your most popular post so far?

I think it was a Halloween video where I transformed myself into a cat.

You are one of the most followed people on Instagram from Croatia. Do you get many business offers because of that and can you live off it?

Absolutely. My schedule is always full and I’m super happy because of that. I can live a very nice life, yes.

What are you plans?

I’m planning to spend a great working summer!:) I’m also launching my own lipstick in a collaboration with one brand so I’m super excited for that.

What do you do in your spare time?

I train boxing, I’m hanging out with my family and friends and of course always thinking about my next move.

You are being compared all over the world to Kim Kardashian. Do you think you look like her?

I’ve been compared to Kim since she became famous, but honestly I don’t see the resemblance. Maybe a little bit in our eyes and hair, but that’s all.

Has Kim herself ever seen you and thought there were similarities?

I don’t know about that but I’ve seen an article on their official website so maybe she even did. Haha
